Privacy Policy

Section 1

Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide directly. When you submit a territory reservation request or contact us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, brokerage name, and the zip codes that make up your requested territory.

Professional license information. We collect your real estate license number and licensed firm name from state licensing authority records. This information is used solely to verify your active license status and to ensure your co-branded materials comply with state advertising requirements.

Public business information. We may supplement your profile with contact information obtained from publicly available professional directories and business data providers to facilitate our outreach to licensed professionals.

Usage data. When you visit our website, we automatically collect standard server log data including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This information is used solely for website security and performance.

Payment information. Payment transactions are processed by Stripe. Lake Washington Press does not store credit card numbers or full payment card data. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information.

Section 2

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Evaluate and process territory license requests
  • Produce co-branded books with your name, photograph, and licensed firm name
  • Fulfill and ship your license order
  • Send license confirmation, renewal reminders, and account communications
  • Respond to your inquiries
  • Maintain accurate records of territory exclusivity
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising purposes, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

Section 3

Information Shared with Third Parties

We share your information only with service providers necessary to fulfill your license:

  • Supabase. We use Supabase to store agent records, territory data, and license information. Data is stored on servers in the United States.
  • Resend. We use Resend to send transactional emails including reservation confirmations and renewal reminders.
  • IngramSpark. Your name, photograph, and licensed firm name are transmitted to IngramSpark for the purpose of producing your co-branded print edition. IngramSpark retains only the information necessary for print production.
  • Stripe. Payment processing. Stripe receives your payment information directly and does not share it with us beyond transaction confirmation.

No third party receives your information for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

Section 4

Your Information in Published Books

If you hold an active license with Lake Washington Press, your name, professional photograph, and licensed firm name will appear on the front cover, spine, and back flap of every co-branded copy of your licensed edition. These books are physical objects distributed to third parties within your licensed territory. Once books are printed and distributed, individual copies cannot be recalled.

You are responsible for ensuring that the name and firm name you provide to LWP are accurate and match your current state license record.

Section 5

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your license is active and for seven years following license expiration, in accordance with standard business record-keeping requirements. Reservation submissions from agents who did not activate a license are retained for two years.

Section 6

Your Rights

You may contact us at hello@lakewashingtonpress.com to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information

Deletion requests may not apply to information we are required to retain by law or for legitimate business purposes, including active license records and payment transaction records.

Section 7

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted database storage and secure transmission protocols. No system is completely secure. We encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

Section 8

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be resolved in King County, Washington.

Section 9

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active licensees by email. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
